These are the programming languages you should know in 2022

Due to the advancing digitalization, the need for IT specialists is also increasing. Programming languages are becoming more important in many professions, and the requirements for IT jobs in particular include knowledge of a wide range of programming languages.

Languages such as JavaScript, Python, C++ or Java are still among the most important. Nevertheless, it is worth considering the bigger picture in order to be perfectly prepared for the latest IT trends in the future. But what are the big players of the year? We present you the most requested programming languages in 2022…

Python

Python may be a few years old, but it is constantly evolving. Especially among beginners, the language is very popular and easy to learn due to its concise programming style. The language is used, for example, for video games, scientific research solutions, machine learning and data science. Python runs on almost all operating systems and offers a huge library that allows developers to easily find any function they need.

Kotlin

Kotlin is also one of the most popular programming languages. Since the language is still very young, it has many modern features and can be used not only on Android devices, but on many different systems. The original Java alternative now does many things better and gets by with much less code. It is great for programming server-side apps and provides a clever syntax for lambda expressions.

Scala

Scala supports both object-oriented and functional programming, making it a general-purpose language. Another advantage is that features that work well in small programs tend to scale efficiently when run in larger environments. Those who know Scala have high chances of getting well-paid developer positions. Currently, Scala is less in demand than Java or Kotlin, but this could change in the future.

TypeScript

In addition to JavaScript, since 2012 there is another language that you should definitely know in web development: TypeScript! The language is compatible with as many browsers as JavaScript and allows you to continue using the many libraries and frameworks or other existing JavaScript code without any problems. TypeScript also helps make JavaScript more manageable through the use of types. Especially when developing complex apps, using TypeScript makes sense. The static type system allows developers to specify types in the source code from the beginning, which can be checked and translated into valid JavaScript at compile time.

Of course, there are many more exciting programming languages. In the next months we will definitely introduce you to one or the other. Stay tuned….
